Sharing with co-editors
If you want other people to help you run a tournament — a co-host on a second device, a partner managing players while you watch the timer — you can grant them edit access by adding their email address to the tournament’s Permissions list. Co-editors can change anything you can, and their changes sync in real time just like your own.
This is different from QR code sharing, which gives anyone a read-only view without needing an account. Use Permissions when you want someone to actually make changes; use QR sharing when you just want someone to watch.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Both you and your co-editor must be signed into Poker Club HQ accounts.
- The tournament must be cloud-synced (it will be automatically once you’re signed in).
- The co-editor’s email address must be verified — unless they signed in with Google or Apple, in which case their email is verified automatically and no extra step is needed.
Granting access
Section titled “Granting access”-
Open the tournament’s Settings screen.
-
Tap the Permissions button.
-
The Permissions screen opens. The first time, it’s empty — tap Add email address.
-
Enter the co-editor’s email address exactly as it appears on their Profile screen, then tap Save.
-
Repeat for anyone else you want to add. The list shows everyone who currently has edit access.
To remove someone’s access later, tap the trash icon next to their email and confirm.
Finding and sharing your email address
Section titled “Finding and sharing your email address”To make sure the owner adds the right address, the co-editor should copy their email straight from the app:
-
Open the navigation drawer and tap Profile.
-
Tap the email address (or the copy icon next to it) to copy it to the clipboard.
-
Paste it into a text message or email and send it to the tournament owner.
Verifying your email address
Section titled “Verifying your email address”If you signed in with email and password, your account starts out unverified. The Profile screen shows an orange “Email is not verified” warning and a Send verification email button (shown above). You won’t be able to edit shared tournaments until you verify:
- Tap Send verification email.
- Open the email Poker Club HQ sends and tap the verification link.
- Wait a few minutes — edit access turns on automatically once the backend notices the verification. You don’t need to sign out, restart the app, or do anything else.
If you signed in with Google or Apple, your email is already verified and you can skip this step entirely.
Connecting to a shared tournament
Section titled “Connecting to a shared tournament”Once the owner has added your (verified) email to the Permissions list, you need a link to the tournament itself. There are two easy ways to get one:
- Scan the QR code. Point your device’s camera at the QR code shown on the owner’s timer screen and tap the link that appears. The app opens and connects you to the tournament.
- Tap a shared link. The owner can tap the QR code on their timer screen to copy the tournament link to their clipboard, then send it to you in a text or email. Tap the link on your device and the app opens the tournament.
As long as the tournament still exists, your email is in its Permissions list, and your account email is verified, the app links you in as a co-editor and any changes you make sync to everyone else in real time.
