Cloud sync & accounts
Poker Club HQ supports cloud backup and multi-device sync through optional user accounts. Your tournaments are stored locally by default, and signing in adds cloud synchronization on top.
Creating an account
Section titled “Creating an account”From the navigation drawer or settings, tap “Sign in” to access the sign-in screen. You can create an account using:
- Google Sign-In
- Apple Sign-In
- Email and password
After signing in, your tournaments automatically begin syncing to the cloud.
How sync works
Section titled “How sync works”Cloud sync uses an offline-first architecture:
- You make a change locally (add a player, start the timer, etc.)
- The change is saved to the local cache immediately
- When a network connection is available, the change syncs to the cloud within about 500 milliseconds
- Other devices signed into the same account receive the change in real time
- If you’re offline, changes queue up and sync when connectivity returns
This means the app always works — even without an internet connection. Changes sync automatically when you’re back online.
Multi-device usage
Section titled “Multi-device usage”Sign into the same account on multiple devices and your tournaments stay in sync. Changes made on one device appear on the others in real time. This is useful for:
- Running a tournament from your phone while displaying the timer on a tablet
- Switching devices mid-tournament without losing any data
- Backing up your tournaments to the cloud automatically
Clock synchronization
Section titled “Clock synchronization”To keep data consistent across devices, Poker Club HQ uses NTP (Network Time Protocol) to verify that device clocks are synchronized. If a device’s clock drifts more than 10 seconds from the actual time, sync is temporarily disabled to prevent timestamp conflicts.
Recognizing a clock drift warning
Section titled “Recognizing a clock drift warning”When sync is disabled due to clock drift, an orange warning icon appears in the app bar:
Tapping the navigation drawer reveals the full warning message along with the current device time drift:
Fixing clock drift
Section titled “Fixing clock drift”To resolve the issue, open your device’s date and time settings and make sure Set automatically is turned on. Once the clock is back within range, sync resumes automatically — no app restart needed.
Profile management
Section titled “Profile management”Tap your profile in the navigation drawer (or go to the Profile screen) to:
- Update your display name and profile photo
- Manage sign-in methods — Link or unlink Google and Apple accounts to the same profile
- View account details — Email address and verification status
Account deletion
Section titled “Account deletion”You can permanently delete your account from the Profile screen. When you delete your account:
- Cloud syncing pauses immediately
- A confirmation dialog appears
- Your account and all cloud data are removed
- Local copies of your tournaments remain on your device but no longer sync
